I was told last week that my friend’s mum heard ‘Cobra Starship’s new song’ on Capital FM. So what can we do to push it along it’s way?

If you have a local radio station, make the most of it.
Email them, tweet them, call them, just to let them know about this new single and that we want to hear it on there.

Get in touch with the major stations.
They all have Twitter. The majority of the DJs have Twitter. Throw them a tweet, let them know what you want to hear. They’ll appreciate it.

Street team it!
I have a poster I’ve made which includes Night Shades promotion and now it’s up to everyone to get out on those streets and put them up or hand them out. Ask bars, record stores, venues, clubs to put them up. Tell them about the song, the album and about Cobra.

I made a list of radio stations which I know played Cobra in the past (I only listen to the radio in the car and I’m now more of a public transport person so if anyone knows any other stations which would be likely to play Cobra, let me know) and I’ve also included some DJs (ones that I actually know the names of and stuff haha)

As most of you know, #YouMakeMeFeel is available on iTunes and you can already pre-order #NightShades. Here’s why we want to promote the band as much as we can, since we’re not only a fanbase, but also a street team, or kind of.

Below, you’ll find a list of radios likely to play Cobra Starship (by country). What we need from you is simple and will take only a few minutes of your time: if you see your country below (or if you just want to help another country, or all countries), e-mail, tweet (or whatever else) the radios asking them to play the new single of Cobra Starship (which is of course You Make Me Feel). Be nice and brief, paste a link to the youtube video if you find it necessary and say please and thank you with enthusiasm! We hope this will help you promote the band as some of you might be lost about how to do it properly.

Also, if you live in Europe and if your country isn’t on the list (or if you know other radio stations likely to play Cobra Starship), please, try to find radio stations which are likely to play the band, find a way to contact them and give us these informations so that we can add them on our list! That’s probably the first important step to take if you want to see the band play in your country ;)

I thought of doing this a while ago but, as there weren’t many members of the team then, I only seemed to get a response of about 40 - 50 people. If I made some, would anyone be interested again? The thing is, I have to place a minimum order of one hundred bands. However, I’m not sure if I can afford to pay for all of the wristbands in one go so either a) I’ll have to get the money up front or b) I want DEFINTE yes or nos. I can’t be forking out for bands that some people will say they want then change their mind about. And I’d have to pay for this with my car insurance fund or with my Education Maintenance allowance… which I can’t particularly throw away. The bands wouldn’t be much, they’d probably be £5 or less because that will include postage, depending on if they’re one inch bands or thinner ones. Haven’t made up my mind yet. If you’re interested, leave it in my ask. But only if you’re a definite yes please! And we’ll have a vote while we’re at it so say what band seems more appealing, the Jac Vanek size ones or the smaller ‘Livestrong’ style ones.

PS don’t completely get your hopes up because I won’t be able to do them if I don’t get a hundred people or more. Ahahah.

I would give you all an amazing post with an amazing picture that’s all Christmassy and Cobrafied but that takes time, effort and skills that I don’t have.

I did use this for the making of the scrapbook which, although was ridiculous amounts of hard work and I couldn’t have done it without you guys and my best friend’s support, was rewarding as a whole. Cobra loved it, I loved it. Great!

Now I’ve been thinking of a new project to do. I did want to get this started in the summer as I had a lot of spare time but now I’m right stuck in in my A Levels and I have a job which takes up a lot of my spare time so it’ll be pretty tricky to get any real work done. I had a couple of ideas but the one that I really enjoyed the sound of would have required me putting in a lot of my own money for a P.O. box as I don’t feel comfortable about giving my address out over the internet. So that meant a strike out for that one.

I’m still thinking up ideas and I have a rough one sketched out in my mind that I think could work pretty well. But my ask box is open so guys, if you have any suggestions, feel free to share. The Starship Project is not only for me, they’re for you guys. They’re a way for you to show your appreciation to those Cobras that we dearly love.
